A playful Husky was so relieved to be rescued from a frightening situation that he couldn’t stop showering his newfound friend with affectionate kisses.
Authorities in Maine received several calls about a dog stranded on the roof of a house. The adventurous pup had apparently climbed out through an upstairs window but soon found himself unable to figure out how to get back inside.
What began as an ordinary adventure had turned into an unexpected rescue situation.
According to the Wells Fire Department, Captain Jeff Nawfel stepped in to help the stranded dog.
“Wells Fire Department Captain Jeff Nawfel was able to save this beautiful dog who managed to get out onto his roof and got stuck,” the department shared.
A video of the rescue captured a heartwarming moment. Rather than appearing frightened or desperate to escape, the dog seemed more interested in making friends with the firefighter who had come to help him.
A Rooftop Rescue Turns Into a Sweet Friendship
As Captain Nawfel approached, the Husky appeared excited to have some company. Instead of immediately focusing on getting back inside, he seemed eager to interact with his rescuer.
His friendly behavior made the situation even more amusing. The dog appeared to have found a new friend in the middle of his unexpected rooftop adventure.
Erin Fenderson, who identified the dog as her friend’s pet, shared more details in the Facebook comments.
“This is my friend’s dog, his name is Jasper and this is not the first time he has done this…he just loves to be outside, they must have forgot to close the window….thanks for rescuing him!”
Apparently, Jasper had a habit of finding ways to enjoy the outdoors, even when it meant getting himself into trouble.
Jasper Finally Heads Back Inside
After spending some time with the friendly Husky, Captain Nawfel eventually managed to convince Jasper to return through the window.
The dog was safely brought back inside, ending his unexpected rooftop adventure.
We can only imagine how many more kisses Captain Nawfel received once Jasper was back on solid ground.
What could have been a stressful situation turned into a delightful rescue moment, thanks to one firefighter’s patience and a very affectionate Husky.
Jasper may have been stuck on the roof, but he certainly made sure his rescuer left with a smile.
