She Gave Birth to Seven Kittens at a Shelter—But the Ending of Her Story Will Melt Your Heart
A ginger cat who arrived at an animal shelter heavily pregnant and alone has finally found the loving home she always deserved. After giving birth to seven kittens on the very night she arrived, this brave mother has spent months caring for her babies. Now, her own beautiful journey is beginning.

Originally named Momma Kitt, the cat first captured hearts when her story was shared in April. At the time, her kittens were only hours old, and she was still waiting for a safe place to raise them.
Before a foster home could be arranged, Kitt went into labor and delivered seven tiny kittens right on the shelter floor. Fortunately, foster volunteer Lori White stepped in the following morning, bringing the entire family home to give them the care and comfort they desperately needed.
Over the following weeks, Kitt proved to be an incredibly devoted mother. She carefully nursed her babies, kept them close, and frequently moved them to different corners of the house whenever she believed another spot would be safer.
As the kittens grew stronger and more independent, attention naturally shifted toward the adorable little ones. But Lori never forgot that their mother deserved a happy ending, too.

Mother cats often spend so much time caring for their babies that their own needs are overlooked. Kitt had already endured an uncertain past, a stressful shelter experience, and the enormous responsibility of raising seven kittens.
Thankfully, someone finally saw her for the wonderful cat she was.
Lori recently shared the exciting news that Momma Kitt had been adopted. Her new family gave her a beautiful new name: Poppy.
“I have the best news to report,” Lori shared. “Momma Kitt was adopted this past weekend! Her new name is Poppy!”
Poppy has now joined a loving family of four, including two daughters who are already excited to welcome her. Her new home also has another cat and a dog, whom she will meet once she feels comfortable in her surroundings.

“I am proud of her for being so brave,” she shared. “I always get extra excited when the momma cats get picked.”
After arriving at the shelter with seven tiny lives depending on her, Poppy finally has a family that chose her for herself. Her kittens were not the only ones deserving of a happy ending.

Now, this brave mama can enjoy the love, comfort, and happiness she has always deserved.
