In Houston, Texas, Tommie Bear sleeps peacefully on his bed and barely ever notices visitors passing by his caged house. The puppy was returned to Harris County Pets after only a few short months.
In June 2020, the shelter received Tommie Bear, a stray who had been microchipped and placed on a contact owner hold for six days. The canine was put up for adoption a second time, but the first family to take him either let him wander free or gave him back to the shelter.
Tommie Bear is still in the shelter four months later, surrounded by loud noises, strange people, and an uncertain future. He is a sad and miserable puppy as a result. Tommie Bear hasn’t gotten much praise for his nice deeds or interactions with people.
The adopter is concerned that he would get excessively attached to the person he adopts and won’t be suitable around children. This kind of dog in particular need continual leadership and supervision.
The volunteer at the shelter added, “It makes me sad and disturbed, and that’s why I believe he needs a rescue to oversee his adoption this time.” Adopters lack the necessary expertise, and Tommie doesn’t deserve to be executed in this manner once more, the volunteer continued.
Here are some details from Tommie Bear’s terrible encounter with the shelter to remember:
TOMMIE KS THE BEAR, WHO HAD JUST BEEN ADOPTED, HAS RETURNED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE ON 10/22! He needs a new house, ideally a lovely one! Give me another one, please!
UPDATE 7/9: We hate to let you know that Tommie doesn’t currently appear to be departing. We’re still waiting for the decision even though he’s back on adoption hold; we’re not sure why the email claimed he was adopted yesterday. I’ll be in touch with you tomorrow to inform everyone.
As of 7/6/2014, he is still hunting for a house. Since he hasn’t yet left the shelter, we’ll continue to keep an eye on his circumstances until he finds a home.
-UPDATE 6/29: Tommy is still waiting for adoption despite the fact that there are two people in front of him.
The most significant aspect of the entire narrative is that Tommy was adopted by a nice family who loved and cared for him as if he were a real member of the family.
“My family and I recently acquired him, and he’s doing great,” “He’s a huge cuddling bear, and his name fits him nicely,” said Tommie Bear’s new mother.
