In 20 candid drawings, a mother of four depicts her day-to-day mothering problems.

Raising children can be stressful, but Kayla Larson, a mother of four, has found a way to express herself creatively. Larson paints fascinating and amusing portraits of motherhood, complete with all the amusing obsessions that come with raising small children.

Thanks to classic Disney films like The Little Mermaid and The Ling King, the artist has been fascinated with art and animation since he was a child. She married and had children after college, and her time for art dwindled. According to Larsen, a fire broke out on the kitchen table one night, especially after the parents had a difficult day.

Despite my clumsy attempt at drawing a cartoon, I decided that the title “maker” was an important part of my identity that I couldn’t give up. I guess I needed a wake-up call because I immediately went to work.

Larson regained his faith and, as evidenced by his work, changed the way he portrayed his style. She now uses her long-running parental comics to promote her art. Scroll down to see what she’s been up to!
