He was found in a locked room when his owner was abroad, and no one wanted to adopt him since he was so thin. In January 2021, we adopted Harlow from a P.S.A. shelter.
He was terrified to remain inside when I brought him in, so I had to stay by his side and speak to him to make him feel better. He was also fed in order for him to gain weight.
HE COULD PLAY A LITTLE WITH JADA OUTSIDE THE NEXT DAY, BUT WHEN WE LEFT HIM ALONE – HE FELT REALLY UNHAPPY, SO BASICALLY I HAD TO TALK WITH HIM ALL THE TIME, EVEN ALLOWING HIM TO SLEEP IN MY ROOM FOR A FEW DAYS.
He gained 2 kilos in a week due to his healthy appetite, but he still seemed skinny and was at worst 20 kilograms underweight.
Over time, he grew more confident and less prone to worry. He also learned to walk, overcame his fear of the dark, and became fond of running about in the garden.
“I GAVE HIM HIS FIRST TRIP TO THE BEACH AFTER 3 MONTHS, AND HE ENJOYED IT SO MUCH,” wrote the author.
Let’s look back at Harlow’s amazing metamorphosis. Because he enjoys playing so much, he is now a healthy, confident, and sometimes naughty dog.
He has this awful habit that I despise, but it’s a good thing he was able to forget about it.
