She was leaving a hospital when she noticed a tiny black kitten beside the road. He was barely the size of her palm, thin, dirty and too weak to find somewhere safe on his own.
An elderly sanitation worker nearby had noticed the kitten crawling out of the bushes several times. This time, someone had finally stopped to help him.
The woman was 38 weeks pregnant and preparing to welcome her own baby. But before becoming a mother, she decided to help this little animal get the care he desperately needed.
She carefully carried him to a veterinary clinic.
A Cardboard Box Got Him Off the Road

The woman’s rescue was documented in a video published by Animal Love Shelter on YouTube. It follows the tiny kitten from his discovery beside the road through his medical treatment and eventual adoption.
When the sanitation worker learned that she wanted to rescue the kitten, he quickly found a cardboard box. Together, they gently placed the fragile animal inside.
The woman immediately took him to a veterinary clinic, where an examination revealed several serious problems.
He had an eye infection and wounds on his hind legs that required immediate attention.
The veterinary staff cleaned and treated his injuries before carefully drying his fur. His breathing was laboured, and the narrator described watching the faint movement of his little belly.
The woman had brought him somewhere he could finally receive professional medical attention. She stayed to see how he would respond to treatment.
He Stood Up, but the Vet Still Had Concerns

According to the rescue account, the veterinarian gave the kitten glucose to address low blood sugar before providing additional nutritional support.
The tiny kitten eagerly sucked at the syringe, showing how desperately he wanted to survive.
Seeing his determination brought the woman to tears.
“Watching it fight so desperately to survive, my eyes welled up with tears,” the rescuer recalled.
Then something encouraging happened.
The kitten managed to stand on his shaky little legs.
Although it was a hopeful sign, the veterinarian explained that low blood sugar did not account for everything. Further testing was necessary to understand his condition.
He also remained unable to eat independently.
A nurse patiently continued trying to feed him until the veterinary team managed to give him a small amount of pureed meat using a syringe.
The kitten was receiving care under veterinary supervision, and his progress was being closely monitored.
Testing Revealed Two Infections

Further testing identified feline panleukopenia, commonly known as feline distemper, along with calicivirus.
The kitten was only around one month old, making the diagnoses particularly concerning.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, “Kittens are most severely affected” by feline panleukopenia.
For the woman who had carried him away from the roadside, seeing him stand had brought hope. However, the test results made it clear that he still needed careful medical attention.
Before leaving the clinic, she paid the remaining medical expenses.
His treatment continued, and over the following days, the rescuer reported that he gradually became more energetic.
Eventually, he managed to use the litter box by himself.
It was a small but meaningful milestone for a kitten who had arrived barely able to move. He was slowly beginning to manage everyday activities without assistance.
On Her Next Visit, He Meowed to Greet Her

When the woman returned to visit him, she found a noticeably different kitten.
He was walking more steadily and greeted her with little meows. His appetite had also started returning.
This time, he was finally willing to eat without assistance.
She watched as he eagerly enjoyed his canned food. The tiny animal who had previously needed patient feeding was now showing genuine interest in his meals.
In a later update, the narrator explained that the kitten was almost fully recovered after approximately a week.
He no longer required IV fluids, and the veterinarian removed his catheter before discharging him.
However, leaving the clinic did not mean his care was finished. He still needed rest, proper nutrition and any medication prescribed by his veterinarian.
His recovery from infection also meant that precautions were necessary around other cats.
VCA Animal Hospitals explains that “Calicivirus is highly contagious and infected cats can shed the virus in saliva or secretions from the nose or eyes.”
His new caregiver would need to follow the veterinarian’s advice about keeping him separated from other cats and deciding when introductions would be appropriate.
She Could Not Keep Him, So She Found Someone Who Could

By this point, the woman was very close to giving birth.
She explained that adopting the kitten herself would not be practical with her newborn arriving soon. However, she was determined not to let him return to the streets.
Instead, she began looking for a suitable home.
“But I found a warm home for this resilient little one,” the rescuer explained.

On the day of his discharge, his new owner arrived with her family to collect him.
Before completing the handover, the rescuer carefully explained the veterinarian’s medication instructions so the kitten’s treatment could continue.
He was leaving the clinic with someone ready to provide the attention and care he needed.
For the woman who had first spotted him beside the road, it was an emotional moment.
She had watched him go from a fragile kitten struggling to breathe and eat to a little animal who could walk, enjoy his food and greet people with a meow.
Soon, she would be welcoming her own newborn, while the kitten was beginning a new life with his adoptive family.
His Next Chapter Began With a Family

This rescue was made possible by several people who each played an important role.
An elderly sanitation worker helped find a box. The pregnant woman stopped, carried the kitten to safety and paid for his medical care. Veterinary staff treated his infections and supported his recovery. Finally, a family opened their home to him.
The woman could not keep the kitten herself, but she made sure he had somewhere safe to go.
By the time he left the clinic, she had helped give him another chance at life.
What began with a tiny black kitten struggling beside a busy road ended with a family ready to love and care for him.
