Every time we see an adorable puppy abandoned by his prospective family at a shelter, it tears our hearts. However, unexpected occurrences have made the pups’ feelings about leaving their home even worse.
When Ritter’s family lost their home and was unable to care for the animals, they gave them to the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Indiana. The other Ritter sibling, Corky, is highly recognized. Ritter was afraid and worried when his cozy and beloved home was suddenly taken away, much like many other pets.
According to Megan Bousley, marketing communications coordinator at the Humane Society for Hamilton County, he was afraid, worried, and distraught, as are many dogs. They don’t know where their family went missing, and the unusual, chaotic circumstances make them both confused and terrified.
His scared and perplexed expression when he was left alone in the kennel shattered everyone’s hearts. Leaning against the wall, he did nothing except gaze at the ground.
Ritter received a lot of affection and comfort from everyone at the shelter, but it wasn’t anywhere close to being a permanent family. Bousley said that nothing but love and care were given to him by the employees. Inside his kennel, he is frightened and nervous, but outside, he is happy and eager to play and receive affection.
Everyone at the shelter was alarmed by Ritter’s dejection and decided to assist him in finding a new home as quickly as they could. In the hopes that a kind-hearted dog lover would see Ritter’s photo on Facebook and give him what he deserved, the team shared it there.
After discovering that the post had gotten more than 3,000 shares, Sophie Spenia approached the center. A dog has long been a part of the woman’s dreams. She delayed doing it till she had a larger home since she had a thing for huge pups. She spent every morning after buying her own home looking on the Humane Society of Hamilton County’s website and Facebook page for the ideal dog for herself. When she finally caught sight of Ritter’s sad appearance, she realized she had discovered what she was looking for.
At 6 a.m., when Spenia first saw Ritter’s picture and description, she “immediately emailed my sister and said we had to go bust him out of there as soon as work.” My sister phoned me two hours later to inform me that the Facebook post she had read had gone viral. My employer and I discussed the problem, and he suggested that I quit work and go to the shelter. He also like dogs.
Despite her worries that the dog could find it difficult to open his heart to a new family, Spenia was overjoyed by Ritter’s reaction.
I knew he was such a love the instant he rushed up to me and placed his incredibly gorgeous head right on my lap, Spenia said. I had to have him.
Ritter traveled to his new, permanent home on Thursday with his adoring mother. He was vibrating with enthusiasm on the ride home.
I’m so relieved to see Ritter smiling again. He was the puppy at the shelter who was the most unhappy, and he finally found the most lovely new mommy. In his new, permanent home, he will undoubtedly live out the remainder of his days surrounded by love and joy.
