A man finds a malnourished dog on a secluded island and saves its life.
Take out your Kleenex because this tale will make you weep.
Wesley White, a photographer, was in Belize on business. So he was excited to explore and photograph this gorgeous island. He was looking forward to a nice vacation despite having very little spare time.

He chose to kayak to a little island in Thatch Caye on the first day of the expedition. He spotted a hungry dog entering a vacant fishing house as he arrived on the island. The poor dog had little more than skin and bones, yet he was nice. “Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his tail wagging,” Wesley says to The Dodo.

Wesley yelled out to others, but no one was fishing. He didn’t believe the dog would live another day, and he needed to rescue it now. So he loaded the dog into the kayak and returned to the motel. The dog would starve to death if he didn’t do anything to assist him.

He requested assistance as soon as he arrived at the hotel. Fortunately, everyone joined in to assist, feed the dog, and transport him to the doctor. Wesley was only with the dog for a brief period since he had just 36 hours before departing Belize.

The vet kept in touch with Wesley and informed him that the puppy had recovered and was ready to be put in a foster home. The dog might have traveled to Dallas after two months at the foster home to be reunited with Wesley.
