Cop abandons socks and shoes to rescue scared puppy lurking in pitch-black tunnel stunning everyone.

After being frightened by an automobile, the little puppy escaped under the canal channel and became trapped in the pitch-black tunnel. She couldn’t move until a police officer arrived to help her.

Officer Joe Brazil is always willing to assist, and he didn’t hesitate to save a poor puppy.

Peggy Edwards shared her story on Facebook on May 2, 2016, and it instantly went viral. The tale affected us all because it was so sincere.

Joe, a police officer from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was important to her story. It all started when an automobile chased away an adorable but terrified Yorkshire terrier puppy.

And the dog bolted, running into a tunnel.

“On April 30th, a little dog was running around free and was scared by a passing car,” Peggy started sharing her experience on Facebook. It crashed with a tunnel that a local brook goes through. She was maybe 20 to 25 feet in and clutching to the edge.

Despite her intuition, she was hesitant to aid the tiny dog.

That’s when she got an idea, but she was worried of scaring the poor puppy and causing it to withdraw farther into the tunnel.

She immediately phoned the Woonsocket Police Department for assistance.

Officer Joe Brazil arrived shortly after and was anxious to assist.

As Peggy detailed what had occurred, the courageous Officer was ready to assist.

“He plunged in without a second thought and emerged with a very wet, scared small dog,” Peggy recalled.

The nice Officer removed his shoes and socks before entering the culvert to rescue the small puppy.

WJAR NBC10 was able to contact the officer, who said, “As I came closer, I could see Cece just clinging to the side and just trembling.”

Given how afraid the tiny dog was, the Officer took additional precautions not to scare her farther down the tube.

The next thing he did was incredible!

He let Cece follow his fingers a bit deeper into the tunnel till he was near enough to the scared dog, and then he hoisted her up!

“She seemed to know I was there to help,” Brazil told WJAR NBC10. It was almost as if she was saying, “Thank you.”

As shown in the picture, the cute puppy seemed to be quite affectionate and grateful to the gorgeous cop who rescued her.

According to another interview with WJAR NBC10, the name of this gorgeous puppy was Cece. After all, this dog wasn’t a stray; she came from a nice family.

Michelle Perez, Cece’s owner, was overjoyed that her dog had been found; according to her, her mother-in-law had given her the gorgeous puppy, but it had fled the following day!

Perez said in an interview that she is just five months old. “I couldn’t fall asleep. I just continued driving around and phoning her.”

Cece was rescued from the terrible tunnel and reunited with her owner thanks to Peggy Edwards and the wonderful Officer Joe Brazil. We’re all glad Cece was rescued and restored to her human!
