Life in the desert is never easy, especially for a dog abandoned without food or water. Lindsey saw dogs roaming California’s Mojave Desert and knew something had to be done. She stopped and tried to get the dog’s trust, but this German Shepherd girl was so scared it was not an easy task. Lindsey couldn’t catch her that day, but she didn’t give up.
Lindsey came to the desert for five days to take care of the dog. She brought food and water many times a day so that the poor child would not starve. It was getting hotter and hotter day by day, and it seemed dangerous to live there. Lindsey knew she had to catch the dog and save her from that fiery place. On the seventh day, Lindsey asked her husband for help. “We have it, folks. She’s safe,” Lindsay said in the video as she carried her dog out of the desert.
“She went to her new home, where we freed her from her trap,” Ms Lindsey explained. The dog was still stressed and terrified of being in an unfamiliar place, but at least now he’s completely safe and cared for. Lindsey said the dog had been abandoned in the Mojave Desert by his previous owner three weeks before he found it.
She saved her life from a rodent and even swallowed a stone, requiring emergency surgery. The soles of her feet were so worn from walking on hot desert sand that she suffered from extreme anemia. She weighed only 38 pounds.
German Shepherds are very loyal dogs and this poor dog was probably waiting for her previous owner to come back, knowing they wouldn’t come back for her. . It took time and determination, but the dog slowly began to open up. They let me touch them and even came to my house to eat.
That was a big step forward. It started with small pets, but soon the girl realized that they loved her and wanted only what was best for her. “She allowed me to stroke her head and it went from there to this blooming dog. She’s just a happy dog,” Lindsay said. “Let me rub her belly! She’s enjoying her life.”
From a frightened desert dog to a beautiful and happy pet… what a change. This German Shepherd is now a healthy, well-fed puppy weighing about 60 pounds. She also has wonderful new parents who love her unconditionally and leave her heartless in the desert.
Love is a wonderful tool that can work miracles, and this story is just one example of how a little bit of love can do amazing things.
